Ed Shifflett
Ed Shifflett, PhD, is Chief Growth Officer and Managing Partner at MOMENTUS Biopharma Consulting. A seasoned growth strategist and trusted advisor, Ed brings more than 20 years of experience helping life sciences organizations translate scientific innovation into meaningful patient impact and sustainable business results.
Ed co-founded and led AlphaGroup Medical Communications, scaling the company from a start-up to a successful exit. He is recognized for driving enterprise growth, instilling operational rigor, and developing high-performing teams grounded in strong, values-based cultures.
With deep experience across the life sciences ecosystem, Ed has built enduring relationships on both the client and agency side where he is known for combining scientific depth with commercial acumen, enabling an integrated approach. . His work consistently aligns science, strategy, and execution to deliver value across the full product lifecycle.
A relationship-driven leader, Ed prioritizes building high-trust partnerships that drive excellence and long-term success. Outside of his professional work, Ed has served on multiple boards, including the Suburban Seahawks Swim Club, the Lock Haven University Alumni Board, and the Lock Haven University Foundation, where he currently serves as Vice-Chair.
Ed enjoys sports and fitness. He is a seven-time Ironman 140.6 finisher and a multiple-time Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifier (2017, 2021, 2022). He also enjoys traveling with his family and spending time with his companion animals.
Ed holds a BS in Health Science from Lock Haven University, an MS in Exercise Physiology from Virginia Tech, and a PhD in Gastrointestinal Physiology from North Carolina State University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois–Chicago Medical Center.
